Should Children Parents Be Allowed Their Biological Parents

Adoption. A word that makes some people think of dogs or cats. Others of children. With people, there is a debate over whether or not adopted children should be allowed to know their biological parents. Some people say that it could do good for a child to know who their parents were. Others say no because it may cause problems for either of the family or the adoptee. This is the wrong idea, because of the benefits from knowing their biological parents. Adoptees do have the right to know their biological parents. Many people make the argument that it would make adoptees see if their parents were nothing, then they may think that they will become the same way. This is making a point because some parents gave up their child because of tough times, while others lost them because of legal issues. A child may see this and think that this is what they may become in the future. Also, it is a possibility that the child may learn more about when they were with that family and could undertake the same steps as their biological parents had taken at that time. The point is valid, but is at the same time flawed. While the child might be disappointed with their biological parents, they have a second family that they have spent most of their life with, will have the most effect. The child is more likely to follow in the footsteps of the family that has a positive impact on their life, their adopted family.
